その名も”田んぼアート”。
青森県の田舎館村で行われている行事で、毎年違うテーマで、田んぼに稲で巨大絵画を描きます。それも稲に後から色を付けるのではなく、最初から色とりどりの苗を使い、稲の成長を待って絵が完成します。それにしても精細な絵ですね。素晴らしい！
元々、田舎館村の人々が村おこしのために始めたそうで、最初はもっとシンプルな絵だけだったそうですが、現在では、田舎館村役場の”天守閣”の上から見てちょうどよく見えるように遠近法を計算して、より複雑に描かれています。コンピュータか何かで緻密な下絵を描いているのでしょうね。
This is Tanbo art (田んぼアート、Rice paddy art).
In 1993, the people of Inakadate（田舎館村）, Aomori（青森県） were looking for a way to revitalize their village. Archaeological exploration led to a realization that rice had been grown in the area for more than 2000 years. To honor this history, the villagers started a rice field behind the town hall. With the paddy as a canvas, the villagers cultivated and used four different types of heirloom and modern strains of rice to create a giant picture in the field. To allow viewing of the whole picture, a mock castle tower 22 meters high was erected at the village office. In 2006, more than 200,000 people visited the village to see the art.
For the first nine years, the farmers created a simple picture of Mount Iwaki before going to more complex designs.[from Wiki]
Oiran. Beautiful and gorgeous! Oiran is a kind of hetaera in the Edo period. They were beautiful and always wore gorgeous costumes. They had a lot of pride that they could refuse to deal with a customer they didn't like.
Tanbo art is drawn in the right perspective when seeing from the top floor of the village office of Inakadate. This work was made in 2013.

6月7日。田植えが終わって4日目。

6月14日。徐々に輪郭が見えてきた。

6月21日。輪郭がくっきり。
On June 21, the shape was more clear.
6月28日。色も浮かび上がってきました。
On June 28, the colors came out beautifully.
7月5日。もう一息。
Just a little more days. on July 5.
7月12日。ついに見ごろを迎えました。
On July 12, now, the best time to view the Tanbo art!
